WhatsApp groups for police welfare

Chennai: DGP Shankar Jiwal has ordered the formation of Whatsapp groups for the welfare of police personnel across the city and districts.
The group will be titled 'TamilNadu police welfare' and will have higher officials as members along with other police personnel.
In Chennai, the group will be headed by joint commissioner (welfare) which will include DCPs and ACPs as members.
The group will post updates about welfare measures taken for police personnel. Cops can also air their grievances about welfare schemes.
The group will be monitored continually and the cops concerned would react to the alerts/assists as and when posted.
