Chennai: State municipal administration minister K N Nehru on Friday said that the DMK govt would face the charges levelled by the
Enforcement Directorate (ED) legally and prove the allegations false.
He was responding to the
Madras high court's direction to the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) to register a case based on the information from the ED and proceed further as per law.

"A transparent inquiry is already underway based on the letter sent by the ED. Chief minister M K Stalin has ordered a detailed investigation. We did no wrong and we will establish this before the court," Nehru said at the joint press conference with DMK organizational secretary R S Bharathi.
Bharathi said that there were several cases filed against DMK leaders in the past, including Nehru. "The minister fought and won all those cases. The present case will also be faced legally," Bharathi said.
He said Nehru was being targeted because he was appointed in charge of 41 constituencies for the upcoming assembly election. Political rivals were acting out of "jealousy and fear", Bharathi said.
"Those sitting in Delhi are attempting to weaken his public standing by using the Enforcement Directorate. But the more he is targeted, the more vigorously he will function," he said.
