Vishal arrived in RK Nagar constituency on Monday afternoon on a motorcycle to file his
nomination
papers for the December 21 R K Nagar byelection.
The 40-year-old actor, who will contest as an independent candidate, arrived at the office of the returning officer in Tondiarpet around 2pm.
Around 40 independent candidates, who arrived in the morning to file their nominations, wanted the officials not to give Vishal any special treatment since he is a VIP.
Monday being the last day to file nominations, there was a rush to file papers. Officials issued a total of 110 tokens.
The actor waited for his turn to file nomination after receiving a token. He got token number 65.
Late
Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa’s niece Deepa Jayakumar, who arrived after 2pm, got token number 91 and was waiting to file her nomination.
Earlier, Vishal paid his respects to late chief ministers Kamarajar, Annadurai, M G Ramachandran and Jayalalithaa before making his way to RK Nagar.
