Violence erupts at AIADMK headquarters as OPS enters premises

CHENNAI: Though he had an invitation to attend the general council of the AIADMK at Vanagaram, party leader O Panneerselvam preferred to go to the party’s headquarters in Royapettah, resulting in violence between his supporters and those of Edappadi K Palaniswami.

As soon as it was informed that OPS was coming to the headquarters, the supporters of both EPS and OPS clashed with stones, poles and knives, resulting in many of them sustaining injuries.They damaged vehicles.

OPS entered the headquarters accompanied by police, after his supporters broke open the door of the party headquarters. He went to the balcony and waved the party flag as violence continued.
