CHENNAI: Villagers in Rama Krishnaraju Pet (RK Pet) near Tiruttani, 110km from Chennai, killed a wild boar after it attacked two people on Friday.
A Pattammal, 55, and G Srinivasan, 30, hailing from Pannur near RK Pet, were going to fields when the boar attacked them.
Both of them were injured as the animal scratched them with its sharp nails.
Hearing their cries, villagers came to their rescue.

They chased the wild boar and killed it with sticks and stones.
The injured were rushed to the government hospital in Tiruttani and were later referred to Government General Hospital in Chennai for further treatment.
The RK Pet police registered a case.
