, has assumed charge as its chief consequent to the passing away of 69th head Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswathi, the mutt said.

After the passing away of the 69th pontiff, Jayendra Saraswathi on February 28, "Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal has started to perform the duties of the 'peetadhipati' of Sri Kanchi Kamakotti Peetam," the mutt said in a release.

Meanwhile, the Madras HC on Friday directed the police to register an FIR, if a cognisable offence was made out, against Vijayendra Saraswathi for allegedly disrespecting the Tamil anthem. Justice MS Ramesh gave the direction on a petition by Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam vice-president S Doraisamy, seeking registration of an FIR against the

Jobs can be got by education, merit and successful interviews. Jobs also can be got by reservation courtesy of the nation which wants down trodden tribals and backward classes to come up to the main frame of the society. To make unequal equals sacrifice is done by the educated forward class to the backward classes. This job reservation and admission gratis was supposed to have been gradually reduced. Now the vote bank politics and arrogance all forward classes also want to be declared as backward classes. Politicians use it and some forward classes want their pound of flesh by branding themselves as the backward class. As regards scavenger job there is nothing wrong in that if one honestly does that job rather than getting bribe, political looting and black money. There is no law yet reserving any jobs for brahmin boys who has to compete with the best, head high and settle for his educational back grounds and abilities. No scrums thrown to them. As for backward classes and tribes they should use the concession without arrogance and should also be helpful to the society which has helped them and also his fellow backward class people over whom he has been preferred for no fault of the backward class people..
