Vijayalakshmi case: Seeman fails to appear before police

Chennai: Actor-politician Seeman, summoned to appear before the Valasaravakkam police on Tuesday, absented himself.Seeman is facing sexual harassment charges filed by actor Vijayalakshmi in 2011.He was summoned to appear on Friday. Later, citing his prior engagements, he agreed to appear on Tuesday. However, on Tuesday, his counsel submitted a letter to investigation officers informing that Seeman could not appear. The reason was not informed to media.Vijayalakshmi filed a separate complaint on August 31 demanding the city police register a case against Seeman for rape, cheating, criminal intimidation among other charges.Vijayalakshmi recorded statements against Seeman in a Tiruvallur court on September 1. She complained that Seeman married her and then cheated on her.
