Vajpayee death: Tamil Nadu declares holiday for schools, colleges and govt offices on Friday
CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government declared a holiday for all educational institutions, state government offices, offices of the state public undertakings and the government-controlled bodies on Friday (August 17) as a mark of respect to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari
However, treasuries would work with limited staff on Friday, an official release said.
State mourning would be observed in Tamil Nadu for seven days from August 16 to 22 (both days inclusive), the release said.
During this period, the national flag would fly half-mast throughout the state. There would be no official entertainment during this period, it added.
