, in Chitlapakkam. Police seized about 3 kg of ganja from their house.

The arrested were identified as C Yashwant Raja, 25, of Kodambakkam, K Satish Kumar, 22, of Andaman Islands, G Srikanth, 22, of Maharashtra, V Arvind Krishna, 26, of Thoothukudi, V Vignesh, 22, of Puducherry, and C Gautham, 22, of Cuddalore. Police said Vignesh and Gautham are studying fourth year

in a college in the suburbs.

Police received a tip about the suspicious movement of youngsters, especially college students, at a house in Chitlapakkam and mounted surveillance in the area. They sent a decoy to buy ganja sachets from them and after the decoy confirmed they sold ganja, a police team swooped in on the house. They seized the contraband and nabbed the suspects. During interrogation, the accused said they received the narcotics from Andhra Pradesh. They said they used to wait near a toll plaza on Grand North Trunk Road on the outskirts from where they brought the drugs hiding them in laptop bags and sold them to customers. The arrested people were remanded in judicial custody after being produced before a magistrate court.
