Two killed as car hits stationary truck in Tamil Nadu

Two people were killed and another was injured when a car they were travelling in hit a stationary truck near Tuticorin in Tamil Nadu on Saturday night.

MADURAI: Two people were killed and another was injured when a car they were travelling in hit a stationary truck near Tuticorin in Tamil Nadu on Saturday night.
The deceased have been identified as Ravi, 35, and his friend Rajaprabhu, 34, who were employed at a private bank. The injured, Vijayaram, 34, was admitted to hospital. All of them hailed from Madurai.

The accident happened when they were returning to Madurai after visiting Tiruchendur Murugan Temple.
Ravi was driving the car. He was trying to give way for a vehicle coming in the opposite direction when the car hit the rear side of a truck parked on the road side.
Ravi died on the spot and Rajaprabhu succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital.
Police registered a case and were investigating.
