CHENNAI: Two men were arrested for forging property documents and availing a loan of Rs 2.2 crore from a nationalised bank in the city.

The arrested

G Kamalakannan

, 42, of Kodungaiyur, and S Sridhar, 54, of Semmancherry had forged the documents of a land in Raja Annamalaipuram measuring 1,735 sqft belonging to Kiruthika and

Vanchinathan of Seerkazhi

near Nagapattinam. They took 2.20 crore as loan from the Punjab

National Bank

branch in of Abiramapuram.

Kamalakannan

broke his hand while trying to escape police.

The bank fraud wing police has so far arrested nine suspects, including Kamalakannan and Sridhar, and seized four SUV vehicles and cash 4.40 lakh from them. Kamalakannan and Sridhar were remanded.
