Two arrested for abduction of man over unpaid loan

Cleared - maniChennai: Two men were arrested in Maduravoyal for abducting and attacking a 34-year-old man who had failed to repay a loan. Police seized a car and two mobile phones used to commit the crime.The complainant, Sureshkumar, 34, a resident of MG Chakrapani Nagar in Valasaravakkam, runs a prefabricated compound wall business. Police said he borrowed ₹2 lakh from Balaji in Jan this year and made part repayment. He agreed to repay the remaining sum by April 5.On April 11, Balaji and Narasimman went to Sureshkumar's house, abused him, assaulted him with an iron rod and forced him into a car. While being taken, Sureshkumar was made to transfer ₹50,000 online. He was later dropped near Arcot Road and Sridevi Kuppam.Based on his complaint, Maduravoyal police traced and arrested Balaji, 32, of Nerkundram, and Narasimman, 31, of Alwarthirunagar. Investigation revealed that Balaji was involved in one previous case and Narasimman had three pending cases.They were remanded in judicial custody.MSID:: 130235448 413 |
