With 85% of the construction completed and only the landscaping to be done, district administration officials say they are racing against time to unveil the facility on Independence Day. The park, complete with a 7D mini theatre, is likely to be inaugurated by chief minister M K Stalin.

“We have planned a nature trail through Sangam-era landscapes of kurinji, mullai, marutham, neithal, and palai representing mountains, forests, plains, seashores, and deserts,” says an official. The district rural development agency has completed constructing the admin building, restrooms, nursery, restaurant, fencing, and the mini theatre.

“Parking space is provided on a piece of Trichy corporation land adjacent to the bird park,” says the official.
Recently, municipal administration minister K N Nehru and collector M Pradeep Kumar inspected the bird park. The aviary is set across 60,000sqft and has a height of 70ft.
