Chennai: Police commissioner S George on Friday detailed two senior police officers to the Vendhar Movies Madhan investigation.
Additional deputy commissioners (ADCs) Balasubramanian and Ashok Kumar will work beside ADC S Radhakrishnan who had been handling the case. Sources said the commissioner thought the case needed to be dealt with ‘more delicately.’
A police team took the accused to an ‘undisclosed’ location for questioning after metropolitan magistrate IX, Saidapet, Prakash released him in police custody for seven days on Friday.
Investigators said police would soon question a film producer and an actor to whom Madhan claimed to have handed over cash collected from medical seat aspirants.
Police apprehended Madhan from the house of one Varsha in Tiruppur on November 24 after he disappeared from his house on May 28. Madhan’s mother Thangam and his wife told the media that police was trying to make him a scapegoat as he ‘exposed a scam.’
