TN releases medical, dental rank list

Chennai: Health minister C Vijaya Bhaskar on Friday released the rank list for MBBS and BDS counselling that is scheduled to begin on June 20. Aadithya Mahesh M V of Kanyakumari, Vignesh V of Thanjavur and Gnanavel E J of Thiruvallur shared the top rank with 200 marks, while there are 187 students in the 199-199.75 cut-off range, said additional director of medical education and secretary of the selection committee G Selvarajan.
He said call letters had not been sent to students due to time constraint. "Students can see the schedule on www.tnhealth.org and www.tn.gov.in and present themselves for counselling," he said adding that the exact cut-off would be known later.
The counselling will be held at the Tamil Nadu Government Multi Super Speciality Hospital in Chennai, starting with candidates belonging to special categories sports quota, children of ex-servicemen and physically challenged on June 20. General category counselling will be held from June 21 to 25.
There are 20 government and two ESI medical colleges in Tamil Nadu. Besides, there are six self-financing private medical colleges.
