TN man kills woman for forcing him to confess on camera that there is no affair between them
CUDDALORE: A 64-year-old man was arrested on charges of murdering a 28-year-old woman for forcing him to confess on camera that there was no relationship between them and sharing the video with the residents of a village near Chidambaram, Cuddalore district.
Police said K Kamatchi had separated from her husband due to differences in opinion a year ago. J Mahendran, 64, her neighbour, had allegedly been trying to develop a relationship with her. Mahendran took advantage of her separation from her husband and actively spread rumours in the village that they were involved in an affair.
Infuriated by the rumours damaging her reputation, Kamatchi decided to teach Mahendran a lesson. She called him over to an isolated spot near Mannargudi, pretending to talk to him. Once he arrived, she confronted him aggressively and insulted him. Kamatchi then assaulted Mahendran with her footwear and forced him to confess on camera that there was no relationship between them. She recorded the entire incident on her mobile phone.
She shared the video with several villagers, and it was widely circulated on WhatsApp groups across the locality.
Humiliated by the video, a vengeful Mahendran hatched a plot to eliminate Kamatchi. Knowing her routine, Mahendran lay in wait on Monday morning. Around 6am, as Kamatchi finished drawing a traditional kolam in front of her mother's house and was about to walk inside, Mahendran, armed with a heavy iron pipe, repeatedly struck her on the head, inflicting severe bleeding injuries leading to her death.
