The Tamil Nadu government has set up two committees to short-list the best low-budget films and the best television serials.

The Tamil Nadu government has set up two committees to short-list the best low-budget films and the best television serials.
According to a press release, a panel headed by Justice Pon Bhaskaran will select low-budget films produced over a four-year period from 2007 to 2010.
Producer-director Rama Narayanan, retired Doordarshan director A Natarajan, actor Vagai Chandrashekar, actresses Saroja Thangavelu and Sripriya, and other government officials are members of the committee.

The government has constituted another committee for selecting the best serials during 2009-2010. This panel is headed by retired justice Shunmugam with other members being director Viduthalai, writer Ajayan Bala, story writer Kanmani Subbu, producer DV Shankar, actor Rajashekar, actress Nithya Ravindar and government officials, the release said.
