Chennai: Tamil Nadu's S Dhanalakshmi got the better of Hima Das to win the women's 200m final at the Indian Grand Prix 1 in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday. Dhanalakshmi topped the charts with a timing of 23.21 seconds while

clocked 23.45. Kerala's Anjali PD was third (24.19).
However, the timings weren't good enough to make the cut for this year's Commonwealth Games or Asian Games. The AFI has set the qualification mark at 23.17 seconds for Asiad and a timing of 22.70 for CWG. Dhanalakshmi had announced her arrival during last year's Federation Cup where she beat both Hima and Dutee Chand.
In the men's 200m final, Arokia Rajiv of Tamil Nadu was third (21.49 seconds) behind Assam's Amlan Borgohain (20.94) and N Shanu Srinivas (21.31) of Andhra Pradesh.
TN’s Jeswin Aldrin men's long jump clocking 8.20m. Kerala's Muhammed Anees (7.70m) and TN ‘s Praveen Chitravel (7.58) finished second and third respectively.
