Tipsy cop held for creating nuisance

CHENNAI: Police have arrested a police constable for creating public nuisance after getting drunk at Thoraipakkam on Friday night. Dhanraj, attached to the Thoraipakkam police station, was picked up from Mettu Street where he was abusing whoever passed by. One of the residents informed the police control room. Dhanraj has been let off after an inquiry, but a departmental inquiry has been initiated against him.
The Adyar deputy commissioner of police has instructed the Neelankarai assistant commissioner of police to inquire and submit a report to him.
