VILLUPURAM: Three people from
Odisha were sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment by a Villupuram court for possessing, smuggling and selling ganja chocolates.
Special judge (NDPS Act) A Packia Jothi slapped a fine of Rs 1 lakh on each of them.
According to the prosecution, P Ajay Kumar, 30, U Ugresan Barik, 29, and T Balaram Barik, 30, all hailing from Odisha, who settled in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, smuggled 5.4kg of ganja chocolates from Odisha to Tamil Nadu on Dec 24 in 2022.
