Three held for murdering tea master

CHENNAI: Police said they have solved the July 28 murder of a

tea master

, a native of Bihar, with the arrest of three fellow natives and former roommates of the victim, from a hideout in the state.

Police said, L Rajeev Yadav, 31, a native of Bihar, worked as a tea master in the city. Rajeev and three friends from back home lived sharing a room in T Nagar. On July 28, a fifth friend, also from Bihar, was visiting Rajeev and wanted to stay in the room.

“Rajeev, who was against the idea of sharing the space with a fifth person, opposed to it while the others sided against him. In the argument that ensued, the four men hacked Rajeev to death and fled,” an investigating officer said.

Based on a

complaint

from the house owner, a special team traced and arrested S Amarnath Yadav, 21; S Madhan Kumar Yadav, 23; and S Rahul Kumar Yadav, 19 from Bihar. Search is on for the fourth accused— Vicky.
