Teacher harasses girl writing exam in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: A 30-year-old schoolteacher has been arrested for allegedly molesting a Class XI girl with speech and hearing impairment in Kancheepuram district on Wednesday.

The accused Jeganathan was a private schoolteacher who was deployed as one of the invigilators in a government school. The school had a separate classroom for children with special needs and the girl was the only student in her room, while students with visual impairment were seated elsewhere. On the pretext of helping her, Jeganathan molested her. The girl returned home on Tuesday and told her parents about the incident. Based on their complaint, police registered a case under the Pocso Act.tnn
