In a statement on Thursday, MNM public relations officer Murali Abbas said Tamilisai should learn from her leaders that Kamal Haasan was not a person who could be intimidated by threats. “Our leader does not yield to threats,” he said.

He said Tamilisai, who cannot predict her future, attempted to comment on Kamal’s decision. Tamilisai had given up the governor post with a dream of becoming an MP and later Union minister, he said.

The MNM PRO said Tamilisai should realise that the DMK govt did not indulge in intimidation tactics. “Our leader’s decision to renounce titles was the outcome of wisdom he gained after attaining perfection in the field of arts. It is an expression of a mature and successful man,” he said.

He said it was sad Tamilisai was not mature enough to understand Kamal Haasan’s decision to renounce his titles.
