Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation to train family members of military personnel
CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation will train family members of military personnel to enhance their employability.
As a first step, a beautician training programme was inaugurated at Station Sainik Institute Ordnance Depot, Avadi, on Thursday. This is being done in collaboration with Dakshin Bharat Area of the Army.
The three-month comprehensive training course will train participants in makeup application. Candidates who pass the course will get a recognised certificate.
The training curriculum includes the theory and practical classes. A separate beautician training room has been established with all infrastructure at Sainik institute. Registration of candidates and documentation on government portal has been done.
Jasbir Brar, zonal president, AWWA, Dakshin Bharat Area, who inaugurated the course, said that the programme has the potential to uplift families by providing them with practical skills that can lead to sustainable livelihoods.
“The mutual support between the Indian Army and the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation highlights the commitment of the unit towards empowering families to contribute to their households and society".
