In his post on X, after paying tribute to the Father of the Nation, Ravi said, "Gandhi Mandapam is a grand monument built by K. Kamaraj in 1956 on a vast plot of land adjacent to the Guindy National Zoological Park in Chennai. Is there any point in holding Gandhi memorial events - his birthday and martyrdom day - in a corner of the city museum? My repeated requests to the Chief Minister to pay due respect to the Father of the Nation and hold such events in a befitting manner at Gandhi Mandapam have met with a stubborn refusal. Gandhiji was strongly opposed and ridiculed by the followers of Dravidian ideology during his lifetime. But should he continue to be ridiculed today?"
