‘Need policy on DMK poll promises’

Chennai: Amid a war of words between AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami and minister Thangam Thennarasu over welfare measures for govt staff, the Tamil Nadu Secretariat Association has demanded that chief minister M K Stalin announce the govt's policy decision on the poll promises made by DMK in the 2021 assembly election.
This demand particularly focuses on reverting to the old pension scheme and filling vacancies in govt posts.
In a letter to chief minister, the association said employees were hugely disappointed over govt's silence on poll promises.
"The govt adopts an unannounced policy of outsourcing staff for govt jobs while four lakh vacancies remain unfilled," the association said. TNN
