Sarathkumar's AISMK expels party functionary Kalidass, associate

CHENNAI: Actor-turned-politician R Sarathkumar's All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi (

AISMK

) has expelled vice-chairman of the party's general council and its Tirunelveli (West) district secretary R K

Kalidass

and his associate, Adiyaman, for anti-party activities.

In a release issued on Thursday, the party said Kalidass and Adiyaman had been expelled from the party.

AISMK, which had left the AIADMK briefly to join NDA, returned to ruling party’s alliance. AIADMK has offered AISMK a seat, and Sarathkumar will contest from Tiruchendur.

In yet another release, AISMK has announced a meeting of its district secretaries in Tuticorin on April 9. On the same day, Sarathkumar would commence his poll campaign in Tiruchendur, the release said.
