NEW DELHI: Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin on Sunday announced that govt will bear entire educational expenses of children of firecracker factory accident.
CM MK Stalin says, "I am announcing that the state government will bear the entire educational expenses of children of firecracker factory workers who lost their lives in accidents, from primary school to higher education. The assistance will be decided at the district level, and a fund of Rs 5 crores has been allocated for this scheme."
The Chief Minister is on a two-day visit to review government schemes and distribute welfare aid.
He inaugurated the newly built district collector’s office in Virudhunagar and also launched a series of development projects valued at Rs 101 crore, aimed at benefiting the district.
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin visited a fireworks factory in Virudhunagar district and instructed officials to enhance safety measures at these facilities on Saturday.
The district, known for its high concentration of fireworks factories, has experienced numerous fire accidents in the past.
During the visit, Stalin inspected licenses, chemical storage areas, manufacturing units, and warehouses. He also interacted with workers to inquire about their well-being and whether they were receiving government benefits.
An official remarked, "This may be the first time a state chief minister has personally visited the fireworks units to assess the safety measures in place."
