Suspended female village assistant held for hurling cow dung at VAO

KALLAKURICHI: A former female village assistant, who hurled cow dung at a village administrative officer near Kallakurichi, was arrested on Tuesday. The arrested has been identified as Vadakanantha village assistant P Sangeetha.

Police said differences in opinion prevailed between Sangeetha and Vadakanantha village administrative officer Tamilarasi over administrative issues.

Sangeetha locked Tamilarasi in her chamber following an argument in December last year. A departmental inquiry was ordered, and Sangeetha was subsequently suspended.

Tamilarasi was at the office on Tuesday when Sangeetha reached her chamber. Sangeetha prevented her from discharging her duty and hurled cow dung at her.

Tamilarasi lodged a complaint with the Kachirapalaiyam police who booked Sangeetha and arrested her.
