Sun Pictures COO Hansraj Saxena is now talking about deals, say police

CHENNAI: Sun Pictures chief operating officer W Hansraj Saxena has given his interrogators details of several controversial transactions, but maintained that he was only a employee carrying out orders of his bosses, the city police said. Saxena, who was taken into police custody on Saturday, was returned to judicial custody on Sunday.
The police on Saturday took Saxena into their custody for two days in connection with the alleged cheating of Hitesh Jhabak, producer of the movie‘Mappillai’starring Dhanush and Hansika Motwani.Police personnel produced him before the magistrate court in Saidapet on Sunday and remanded him in judicial custody.
Police sources said Saxena was more forthcoming on Saturday while being interrogated. “He gave some information about many business transactions. He said he was but an employee who was doing his duty as directed by his superiors. He said he had no independent role to play and that several complaints are being filedon thesamedeal,to fix him,” a police officer said.
The police are planning to crosscheck Saxena’s statements with Sun TV Network chairman and managing director Kalanithi Maran, who has been asked to appear before the KK Nagar police. Maran, through his lawyers, has asked for time till July 26, sinceheisoutof town on some personal work.
