CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu chief minister
M K Stalin on Thursday condemned
Twitter for withholding the official accounts of Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) leader
Seeman and May 17 coordinator Thirumurugan Gandhi.
Stalin tweeted demanding that the social media organisation lift the temporary ban imposed on the accounts of Seeman and Thirumurugan Gandhi. "I condemn the accounts of Seeman and brother Thirumurugan Gandhi being withheld in India.
Ideas should be confronted with the same ideas and should not be strangled," Stalin tweeted.
"The temporary ban imposed on their accounts should be lifted, and social media should be permitted to function according to its standards," said Stalin.
Twitter on Wednesday 'withheld' the accounts of Seeman, Thirumurugan Gandhi and more than 20 NTK members minutes after Seeman posted a statement on the protesting woman wrestlers in Delhi and their announcement to throw their medals in the river Ganga.
