Stalin inaugurates 45 projects worth 212cr, launches nine projects

Chennai: Chief minister M K Stalin on Friday inaugurated 45 projects worth 211.9 crore and laid the foundation stone for nine projects estimated at 53.76 crore under the municipal administration and water supply department. He handed over 28 new vehicles worth 3.28 crore for the use of directorate of municipal administration.At the Secretariat, Stalin inaugurated 35 projects executed by the directorate of municipal administration at a cost of 177.17 crore and nine projects by the directorate of town panchayats worth 32.23 crore. He opened a new school building constructed by Greater Chennai Corporation at Manali at a cost of 2.5 crore.The inaugurated projects include facilities such as Kalaignar libraries, commercial complexes, classrooms, science parks, modern bus stands, a solid waste transfer station, and drinking water pipelines in corporations, including Hosur, Tambaram, Tirupur, and Coimbatore. Similarly, parks, anganwadi centres, bus stands, mini market buildings, weekly markets, overhead tanks, and drinking water projects, were unveiled in several municipalities, including Thirukovilur, Kottakuppam, Arakkonam, Mayiladuthurai, and Kulithalai.Under the town panchayats directorate, completed works include six public health centres and sub-centres in Ezhumalai, Sethur, and Keezhpennathur, a new bus stand at Keezhpennathur, and drinking water improvement projects in Koradacheri and Punjai Thottakurichi.Stalin also laid the foundation stone for five projects worth 16.49 crore by GCC, including school buildings in Kannagi Nagar, Semmenchery, and Sholinganallur, a pickleball court in Thiru Vi Ka Nagar zone, and a gym facility in Teynampet.Additionally, three new Metrowater projects worth 25.79 crore were launched. A new sewage treatment and faecal sludge treatment plant worth 11.48 crore was also announced for the Kondapalayam area in Sholinghur municipality.
