The app, which will be launched during the dog show to be held at Phoenix MarketCity, is one of BCI’s oldest initiatives to encourage adoption of Indies. “We have been conducting it every year since 1984. It was earlier held in Congress grounds and premises of schools but we are now able to have it in swanky malls, where footfalls are higher,” says Chinny Krishna, co-founder of BCI.

Open only to Indies and rescues, there are plenty of prizes to be won in more than 30 categories, including the dog with the waggiest tail, the dog with the best smile, the dog that looks most like the owner, etc. In fact, the tag line this time is ‘India for Indie Dogs’. Every year, the show receives more than 100+ registrations and nearly 3,000 plus visitors. This time, the event will also feature an adoption drive for Indie puppies and kittens as well as rescued pedigree adult dogs.
