CHENNAI: After DMK intensified its attack on BJP and Prime Minister
Narendra Modi with the slogan 'Get out Modi', DMK MP A Raja on Saturday went a step further to say that 'Shut up Modi' will reverberate in Parliament.
Speaking at a book release function at Anna Arivalayam, the DMK headquarters in Chennai, Raja said, "If Narendra Modi continues to say DMK is trying to divide people by using Tamil, can't we ask him aren't you (Modi) dividing people on the basis of language? I will go a step further. Earlier, we said, 'Go back Modi', then our deputy CM (
Udhayanidhi Stalin) said, 'Get out Modi', and soon we will say, 'Shut up Modi' in Parliament."
When Narendra Modi visited Chennai during the previous AIADMK regime, the DMK and its allies used the slogan 'Go back Modi' along with black balloons.
Recently, after BJP govt insisted that Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan fund of ₹2,151 crore would be released to TN only if it accepted the National Education Policy, deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin warned the BJP that the slogan 'Go back Modi' would turn to 'Get out Modi'. Following the warning, the DMK ensured 'Get out Modi' trended on social media.
Meanwhile, TN BJP spokesman A N S Prasad said DMK govt in TN should be dissolved for using such slogans against the PM.
Prasad said in a statement, "The DMK govt, which should be dissolved, is being safeguarded by PM Modi govt in the spirit of democracy, unlike the dictatorial Congress regimes of the past."
The Modi administration genuinely strives to deliver Central govt's schemes to TN's poor and underprivileged, said Prasad.
"The DMK should not misinterpret this goodwill. DMK leaders, mend your ways, or you will be corrected. Do not push
Tamil Nadu toward a forced regime change," he said.
