CHENNAI: Acting
Tamil Nadu Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao on Friday took stock of the situation arising out of the political fallout. He met
chief secretary
Girija Vaidyanathan, director general of police T K Rajendran and city police commissioner S George.
The officials appraised the
Governor
of “prevailing situation in the state,” sources said. The meeting lasted for nearly 40 minutes, they said.
The meeting happened a day after caretaker chief minister O
Panneerselvam and AIADMK general secretary V K Sasikala had separate meetings with the Governor. Panneerselvam sought time to form a government and complained to him that Sasikala camp had confined party MLAs in resorts near Mahabalipuram. Sasikala, who was elected legislature party leader, staked claim to form the government.
