Southern Railway awards staff for work performance

, K.R.Abilash Babu, loco pilot and Ved Prakash Meena , asst. loco pilot of a goods train in Erode, Niranjan Lal Meena, loco pilot and Kundan Kumar, asst. loco pilot in Erode and B.Ramesh Kumar, motorman received

awards

and merit certification from R.K.Kulshrestha, general manager, Southern Railway.


The general manager lauded the loco pilots for their swift action and exemplary devotion to duty in ensuring safe train operations.On November 28, K.R.Abilash Babu, loco pilot and Ved Prakash Meena , asst. loco Pilot of a goods train in Erode experienced jerk while the train was running between Mecheri Road –

Mettur Dam

in Salem – Mettur Dam section around 10.50am.

Immediately, the loco pilots informed the guard of the train and section

engineers

. The train was stopped the train at Mettur Dam, the next station. On receipt of information, the section engineer and team proceeded to the spot.

A rail fracture was found. Subsequently, speed restriction was imposed in the section. After renewing cut rail speed restriction was withdrawn and train operations resumed with normal sectional speed at 5pm on November 29.
