Rowdy out on bail arrested for trying to murder cop in Tamil Nadu

The arrested rowdy element was identified as N Veeramani, 23, of Vadakuthu in the district.
Police said he had been involved in three cases earlier and was detained under Goondas Act in August last year. He was granted bail on April 7 this year with the condition of signing daily at Neyveli township police station. He signed only on April 8 and had failed to report to the police station since then.
Police said a car driver informed police head constable V Dhandapani, 45, of Neyveli township police station that a man with a sickle, who was later identified as Veeramani, and his aide, who was later identified as Aravinthan, were threatening passersby on the Vikravandi-Kumbakonam National Highway.
Dhandapani and home guard Subramani rushed to the spot on his motorcycle. By the time the duo had left the place. The cops managed to trace the duo near Keezhakollai village. When questioned, the man with the sickle attacked the cops. Dhandapani sustained injuries on his left hand and chest. The cops managed to run to safety.
The residents of Keezhakollai chased Veeramani and Aravinthan. They overpowered and captured Veeramani while his aide escaped. Veeramani sustained injuries on his head in the melee. A police team rushed to the spot and arrested the rowdy.
The police booked him under sections 307 (attempt to murder), 294-B (obscene acts and songs), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) and 506 (ii) (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 3 (mischief causing damage to public property) of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property (PPD), Act, 1984.
Veeramani was admitted to Cuddalore Government General Hospital.

Hail the Judge who gave him bail ? Our Judiciary has to be uptight, stronger n sterner with criminals n corrupts. May be, we should follow the Singapore model in dealing with criminals n corrupts.
