CHENNAI: A rowdy was murdered by a gang in Chennai’s Kasimedu on Sunday night.
The murdered man has been identified as Venkatraman of Power Kuppam in Kasimedu.
A gang comprising Vimal, Boobalan and three others attacked Venkatraman with knives and sickles near ‘A’ Block in Power Kuppam.
On being informed, a team from the Kasimedu police station arrived there. Injured Venkatraman was sent to Government Stanley Hospital where doctors examined him and declared him dead.
Kasimedu police registered a murder case.
Venkatraman was involved in a clash with Vimal and Boobalan.
Police launched a hunt for the absconding suspects.
