Rowdy hacked to death in Avadi
Chennai: A 32-year-old history sheeter was hacked to death by an unidentified gang when he was sleeping inside his house at Pothur near Avadi late Saturday night.
The gang barged into his house, hacked him with sickles and fled the spot. Police suspect it to be a revenge killing for a murder that happened in 2016.
According to Avadi Tank Factory police, the deceased was identified as Yogeshwaran of Avadi, a history sheeter and a painter by profession.

On Saturday night, an unidentified gang of three men broke open the front door and barged into the house. The gang attacked him using sickles and fled the spot. He died on the spot.
Yogeshwaran’s wife, who was sleeping nearby, raised an alarm. Hearing her screams, her neighbours rushed into the house. The Avadi Tank Factory police came to the spot and recovered the body before sending it to Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital for postmortem.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Yogeshwaran had several cases pending against him.
Police said that in 2016, Yogeshwaran and his friend were involved in the murder of another rowdy Sura.
The victim came out on bail last month and stayed in Dharmapuri fearing attacks on him.
On Friday he came home to meet his wife, when the murder happened the next day.
