Rotary Club
of Chennai Presidency has honoured three people with awards for outstanding vocational service.
The awards were given away in various categories by Justice P N Prakash of the Madras high court at a function held at Sri Shirdi Sai Hall in Annanagar on Saturday.
Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Dr K R Seethalakshmi, principal, Quaid-E-Millet College of Arts and Science for Women, for her work on music and education.
Vocational Excellence Award was presented to Dr P Soundararajan, corporate executive chef, Mahindra Holidays and Resorts India Limited, for his dedication to the culinary art and to Dr H Booma, a medical officer in the Kodambakkam zone of the Chennai Corporation for her selfless work during the recent floods in the city.
Rotarian Jeyachander Babu, president, welcomed the gathering and Rotarian Nagojee Rao, president-elect, proposed a vote of thanks.
