This is the degradation of Indian electoral / Parliamentary democracy. The main culprit is not the voters or the political parties. IT IS THE INDIAN ELECTION COMMISSION. We need to dismantle the present EC and with new election codes and laws a different format of institution to conduct Indian elections should be made. The following should be cardinal rules: 1) No candidate should be above 55 years and below 35 years in age to contest elections. 2) A candidate should be a post graduate in any discipline from a government of India recognized Indian university. 3) The candidate should not have contested any election either to the Parliament or State Assemblies more than once. 4) The candidate or his party cannot conduct more than two meetings to meet the voters of a constituency publicly. 5) The voters age limit to take part in election to vote a candidate of his choice should be 35 minimum and the voter should not be above 60 years by age. 6) The voter should be educated up to a bachelors degree level from a recognized university. 7) Electioneering for a single political party should be for only 1 hr. period in time in a day. 8) If proved by authorities that the candidate gave a speech or acted to bribe the voters, his candidature should be terminated for life in any Indian election. 9) If a voter is found accepting in any manner bribes, his franchise to vote in any Indian election will be terminated 10) Blind people have no right to vote. ------------- > Unless such steps and more in this manner are not taken, Indian elections remain only farce. Cheating on the people and Indian democracy. The present election commission is a total failure and waste. Outmoded and toothless.
