RK Nagar bypoll: Chennai Corporation seizes Rs 5.2 lakh

CHENNAI: Based on complaints received on its public grievance redressal system and helplines, the

Greater Chennai Corporation

(GCC) has seized more than Rs 5.21 lakh in cash from the

RK Nagar

constituency till December 10.

A statement from the GCC said 188 complaints had been received till Sunday, including those received at the district election officer level, of which 178 had been resolved and ten were pending.

According to officials, 74 four-wheelers which were used for campaigning without necessary permits were seized.

As many as 23

FIRs

had been filed, the release said.
