collected from Elliott's Beach and

Marina Beach

has seen an increase in the last two days after Chennai received heavy rain.

On an average, daily garbage collected from Marina Beach and

Elliot’s Beach

is to the extent of 2MT and 1MT, respectively. But on Tuesday and Wednesday, there was increase in the quantum of garbage collected due to the trash washed ashore.

On Elliot’s Beach, 2.5MT and 2MT garbage were collected on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively. On Marina Beach, 3.15MT and 3MT were collected on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to data from the

Gone are the days, when a regular cleaning of streets, roads and grounds were very religiously undertaken.Now, every one is throwing garbage in heaps on many corners. These, become dry and block passage of water, making pools for breeding mosquitoes. Most of our rulers are primarily aiming to amass wealth by every possible means of power vested in them.The situation will continue, PMs will make untiring requests, public will challenge and keep throwing waste all over. Nothing will happen. If reader of this note, can pop-out of his house, can still find left over papers from Deepavali crackers etc;, till next Deepavali it will remain, but for wind or small rains.Civic sense is yet to be developed and registered in young minds.Only individual realization OR an out bust of diseases in epidemic proportion.
