Revenue zone for Tamil Nadu, Puducherry gets 58 GST inspectors

CHENNAI: The revenue department for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry zone will get 58 inspectors for CGST and Central Excise wings as they recently completed the induction training programme at the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NACIN) in the city.

A passing out parade to mark the completion of the three-and-half month programme was held in the presence of principal chief commissioner M Srinivas and principal additional director general (NACIN) K R Uday Bhaskar. The officers were trained on the GST laws and procedures, various allied acts and other areas of work expected to be carried out by them including physical fitness and handling of firearms.

Three top performing officers were awarded medals.

Meanwhile, Chennai Customs wing recently carried out a two-day preventive vigilance drive as part of the Vigilance Awareness Week 2022.
