Remains of man killed in landgrab episode exhumed

Chennai: The remains of P Kumar, a 71-year-old retired GCC employee murdered by a three-member gang in connection with a land-grabbing incident, were exhumed at Gingee on Thursday morning. The slian man was PA to C Kuppusamy, a former MP of DMK. Kumar was in charge of a high-value plot owned by a relative on ECR. A gang tasked with usurping the land kidnapped Kumar and strangled him in a car. The gang then buried his body in a region adjoining the forest near Gingee three days ago. Police clarified that a man named Ravi of Urapakkam, had forged papers to claim ownership of the land, which he then took over. When Kumar lodged a complaint, Ravi called him for negotiation, and murdered him. Police arrested Ravi and his accomplices, Senthilkumar and Vijay. On Thursday, police exhumed his remains in the presence of revenue officials and medical teams, and sent them for postmortem.tnn
