Ranipet schoolgirl bags gold medal at national martial arts championship

RANIPET: A Class IX girl student at a private school in Ranipet bagged a gold medal at the 29th All India National Martial Arts’ Championship 2026 held in Goa on Jan 25. The event was the culmination of a series of contests held across India to select bright, young, and promising talent in various traditional martial arts of India, including silambam.Training under the silambam exponent Murali since she was nine years old, S G Roshini has taken part in several tournaments across the district and Tamil Nadu, and her latest achievement has brought widespread appreciation.Roshini studies in Vedavalli Vidyalaya, NPS Senior Secondary School in Ranipet. School correspondent Vidya Sampath lauded Roshini on her achievement. She expressed optimism that Roshini's success would inspire other students towards the pursuit of excellence.
