E V Ramasamy, actor-turned politician Rajinikanth on Thursday said the act of vandalising or talking about vandalising statues is barbaric.

The message on Raja’s page kicked up a storm in Tamil Nadu. The state witnessed widespread protests on Wednesday.

“H Raja has expressed his regret for the statement. Let us not make this a larger issue and leave it at that,” Rajinikanth told a Tamil TV channel.

The actor greeted women on the occasion of Women’s Day.
