Railways to run Velankanni–Goa special trains

CHENNAI: Railways will operate special trains from Velankanni to Vasco da Gama (Goa) for the benefit of devotees returning after attending the Velankanni festival.
No 02716 Velankanni – Vasco da Gama special train will leave Velankanni at 8.15pm on August 28 and reach Vasco da Gama at 9.10pm the next day.
No 02718 Velankanni – Vasco da Gama special train will leave Velankanni at 8.15pm on August 31 and reach Vasco da Gama at 9.10pm the next day.
No 02719 Velankanni – Vasco da Gama special train will leave Velankanni at 8.15pm on September 3 and reach Vasco da Gama at 9.10pm the next day.
The trains will have five AC 3-tier, nine sleeper class and two luggage-cum-brake van coaches and will have stops at Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, Tiruchchirappalli, Karur, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Palakkad, Shoranur, Kozhikkode, Kannur, Kasaragod, Mangalore Junction, Suratkal, Udupi, Kundapur, Bhatkal, Kumta, Karwar and Madgaon.
Advance reservations will commence on August 20.
