R K Suresh appears before the EOW for second day

Chennai: Actor-cum-producer R K Suresh was question by the EOW-CID in connection with the probe into Aarudhra Gold Trading Private Limited’s investment fraud for the second consecutive day on Wednesday. During questioning, which went on for nearly two hours, Suresh had told officials that he played no role in the scam.Additional superintendent of police Velmurugan, who recorded the Suresh’s state said Suresh was questioned based on actor Russo’s confession statement.Earlier, EOW officials arrested Ruso for “luring” people to deposit money in schemes floated by the trading company. Police said Russo had roped in at least 100 investors to deposit money in the fraudulent company, for which he earned a commission from the firm. The company had cheated about one lakh people of ₹2,438 crore promising to give them 25% to 30% returns as interest to their investments. Eleven people, including the directors of the firm Harish, Malathi, Baskar, Mohanbabu, and Senthilkumar, have been arrested in connection with the case. According to the first information report, ₹20 crore was transferred to RK Suresh’s bank account from Ruso’s account. Investigations revealed Russo had paid Suresh to help him remove names of the directors of Aarudhra from the FIR. Ruso provided his chequebook details to the investigation officers to substantiate his claims, police said. However, on Tuesday and Wednesday RK Suresh denied these charges. Suresh appeared before the cops after they issued a lookout circular to all the airports in India as he did not appear before them even after being sent three summons. Last week, nearly a year later, he returned to Chennai. . Meanwhile, last week, Interpol officials nabbed Rajasekar, the managing director of the Aarudhra Gold Trading company.
