DMK candidate in Thondamuthur assembly constituency Karthikeya Sivasenapathy on Tuesday alleged that he was assaulted by AIADMK men outside a polling booth in Selvapuram. Tension gripped outside the polling station after the members of the two parties clashed with each other.

Police lathicharged people who went into a frenzy mode on spotting actor Vijay cycling to a polling booth at Neelangarai in Chennai on Tuesday morning. The actor, who wore a green shirt, was cycling to a polling station to cast his vote. His fans and others followed him on their two-wheelers taking photos and videos on their mobile phones.
